Rescuers are having to help more and more people who've got into trouble searching for the perfect photo for Instagram.

Landsar is reporting an increase in call-outs to inexperienced adventurers.

They say these people don't think about having the right equipment or ability - they just go out purely thinking about social media posts.

Social media commentator, Paul Spain told Larry Williams it is a case of young people thinking they are bulletproof.

"Youngsters who like to have a bit of fun when they are young, don't always think through the consequences of what they are doing and tend to get into a spot of bother from time to time."

Spain says fines are being suggested as a way to help discourage the reckless behaviour.

He says tougher consequences will probably help somewhat but there will always be a few who want to push the limits.
