Parliament's longest serving female MP, Annette King, has made her final speech in parliament.
With a political career spanning four decades, the veteran Labour MP paid tribute to her party's former Leader Andrew Little in her valedictory speech last night.
She has commended him for bringing unity to Labour's caucus and revitalising Labour's front bench.
King also praised new Leader Jacinda Ardern expressing her pride in her leadership.
She has also picking Ardern will be a popular leader and will remain so for some time.
