Airbnb property owners are being warned to have checks in place after a spate of robberies in Christchurch.
Two women were arrested yesterday for burglaries linked to bookings though online websites.
They allegedly stole credit cards, then rented homes and stole from them.
Chairperson Nigel Humphries told Mike Hosking it's risk all short term accommodation providers have.
"Commercial accommodation providers have been dealing with issues like this for decades and as I say they have systems in place but for those who just want to get on the bandwagon perhaps haven't thought of this."
Humphries says people need to have systems in place to protect their properties.
