The Gold Coast may be done and dusted, but Birmingham's just getting started.
The English city will host the next Commonwealth Games in 2022, with the handover event taking place at the closing ceremony last night.
About 2000 dancers and other performers celebrated in the city's Victoria Square for the handover.
Neil Elkes of the Birmingham Post told Mike Hosking the city already has a great set of facilities.
"Things will be upgraded, but we've got things in place and in the four year time scale of course, when you normally get seven, we can put them to good use."
Birmingham only received hosting rights in December last year, after original host Durban was stripped of their rights to host due to being unable to afford it.
