Mark the Week: National Party implosion a disgrace

Every Friday morning, Mike Hosking takes you through the big ticket items of the week and lets you know what he makes of it all.

Here's a taste of what he reckons.

Jami-Lee Ross.

0/10.

"He's a scum bag, a low life, dishonest, and a reprobate.

He could, just, have detached himself from the bottom of the barrel if that tape had, had anything even close to what he was claiming.

But it didn’t."

Simon Bridges.

4/10.

"The worst of weeks. Not his fault, but the handling, in parts, was not great.

As to his future, it's as up in the air as it has ever been, if not more so."

The Entire Saga.

1/10.

"That’s only a one out of ten because it’s a “you can't take your eyes off it" train wreck.

Otherwise the whole, sad saga would be another zero."

The Number of Cars.

8/10.

"Four point one million and rising. It's outpacing the population increase.

But hold on, why aren't we on buses and in cycle lanes?

Because the idiots that pedal this stuff are so out to lunch it's laughable.

We love cars, and the numbers don’t lie."

Pregnancy Warning Labels on Booze.

8/10.

"Because in one simple move it will all of a sudden alert all women to the dangers of booze and pregnancy and save endless lives.

Or, it will simply be yet another piece of pointless PC virtue signalling.

You be the judge."

Importing Coal.

4/10.

"This is the level of madness we have descended to.

Our infrastructure is creaking, we're running out of gas.

The exploration ban is having a “here and now “ effect on investment, and the government haven't got a clue as to what fills the gap.

Except to pretend "green initiatives" will save the day."

The Kiwis.

8/10.

"That was a win for the ages. That was the start to the Maguire era that books are written about."
