Donald Trump's opposition to sprinklers may have contributed to a deadly fire in Trump Tower.
A 67-year-old building resident died and six firefighters were injured in a massive blaze on the building over the weekend.
Trump reluctantly agreed to install sprinklers on the lower floors following a string of fatal Manhattan building fires, but US correspondent Richard Arnold told Mike Hosking he absolutely refused to install sprinklers on the upper residential floors.
"Trump has downplayed the benefits of sprinklers 'People feel safer with them' he said once, well yeah because they are safer.
"It is quite astonishing that a landmark tower like this has such poor safety standards."
