Primary school teachers and principals want the Government to understand the severity of the crisis in schools.

Teachers have voted in favour of another round of strikes after rejecting a second pay offer from the government.

In the meantime, the NZEI and Ministry of Education are seeking "facilitated bargaining" under the Employment Relations Act.

NZEI president Lynda Stuart told Mike Hosking they just want action.

It certainly made it easy for the national executive to make that final decision because it was a very, very,very clear mandate."
