Money from cancelled roading projects is to be pumped into improving road safety.
Associate Transport Minister, Julie Anne Genter said cutting the road toll is a top Government priority.

She told Mike Hosking extra funding for road safety initiatives will come from cancelled motorway projects such at the East-West motorway link in Auckland.
"The Ministry has already identified a number of high priority areas. If they could improve the safety and black spots."
This year's road toll is already higher than last year's.
