A 70-metre high wooden bungy jumping platform's being proposed in Waitomo.

Entrepreneur, John Heskett's looking to build the platform, that'd be the first attraction of its kind in the world.

The idea comes with a price tag of $20 million.

John Heskett told Larry Williams they had a meeting in Waitomo to get the community's backing.

"There are a few people who are opposed but, you know, once people hear it from my mouth they seem to be supportive."

Heskett says they're currently applying for resource consent to build the platform.
