The Ranfurly Shield is going on the road.
The closure of New Plymouth's stadium is a disruption but it won't stop Taranaki defending the Shield.
Yarrow Stadium has been condemned after it was found to be earthquake-prone.
Taranaki Rugby chief executive, Jeremy Parkinson, told Mike Hosking there are a handful of other venues to look at in places like Inglewood and Hawera, but they all require work.
"We have planned, we're playing Poverty Bay at the Clifton rugby club in Tikorangi and then we're also playing Whanganui in Hawera and there's another facility in Inglewood that has hosted Ranfurly Shield fixtures."
Parkinson says they will be hitting the road, it's just a matter of getting other venues up to scratch.
"The other concern is getting lighting levels up to minimum standards for the Mitre 10 Cup as well as changing room facilities and other infrastructure around the field."
Parkinson says some way, some how, they'll make it work.
