The job starts today for Jacinda Ardern and her incoming government.
The 37-year-old is set to become the country's youngest Prime Minister in centuries, having been anointed by Winston Peters.
She faces her first major task today - choosing her cabinet.
That will include not only Labour MPs, but also four from New Zealand First.
Three portfolios will also be reserved for Green Party MPs, who will sit outside cabinet.
Both minor parties will each have an under-secretary position.
Green Party leader James Shaw said it's been a remarkable election campaign, and post-election period.
"She and the Labour Party did an extraordinary job of turning around their campaign."
