Broadening ACC to cover disease isn't on the Prime Minister's immediate agenda.
Calls are being made to overhaul the 50-year-old scheme.
Barrister Warren Forster has been made the 2017 Law Foundation International Research Fellow, to look at how we could alter the ACC scheme so it doesn’t distinguish between sickness and accidents.
Jacinda Ardern said the Government's dealing with other pressing issues at the moment.
But she told Mike Hosking it's a conversation worth having.
"We do look at like, for instance, the fact that someone who has a stroke will have a very different experience with the health system versus someone who has a car accident."
