Ticket scalping has become a big issue with some superstar acts like Bruce Springsteen, Adele and Justin Bieber coming here over the past few months
There are instances where fans have forked out thousands of dollars, but then been lied to or not received tickets at all.
Executive member of the Entertainment Operators Association Ian Magan told Mike Hosking they want the laws around the reselling of tickets changed.
"What we're trying to stop is the people buying tickets in bulk with that very thing in mind with the connivance of people inside the legitimate ticketing agency."
At the same time, Consumers New Zealand has launched an investigation into ticket resellers.
Chief executive Sue Chetwin said they're doing a survey and want to hear from anyone who has been ripped off by resellers.
She said experiences include high or fake ticket prices, seats not being as described, and undelivered tickets.
