Supporters are turning on the new French President as his popularity ratings plummet.
Emmanuel Macron's popularity ratings have slumped by 10 percent, in the biggest decline for a French President in around 20 years.
Europe correspondent Catherine Field said Mr Macron's walking back on tax cut promises and is trimming housing benefits.
She told Mike Hosking the President's approval ratings were extremely high when he was elected in May and now voters are unhappy.
"People don't like his style, he's too authoritarian. He said he wanted to be this great figure who will be above the fray."
