A date is yet to be set for the celebration of our women's rugby team World Cup win.

The team won the Women's Rugby World Cup more than two weeks ago, and Wellington has offered to host a celebration for the team.

But New Zealand Rugby said it still hasn't made any decision on a celebratory event.

Head of Women's Rugby Development Cate Sexton told Larry Williams she's not sure a one-off parade will achieve their goals of promoting women's rugby.

"There's a long term plan about meaningful engagement with our communities and showcasing [to] the girls and women of our communities, that rugby is a great sport to be a part of."
