Insurance may not cover businesses affected by the Auckland fuel crisis.
The damaged pipeline at the centre of the crisis is causing chaos for travellers.
Insurance lawyer Andrew Hooker told Mike Hosking says most business interruption insurance policies won't cover losses as a result of a fuel shortage.
"They cover electricity, gas, as in natural gas, but they don't seem to specify lack of fuel or diesel or whatever so I think the insurance companies may squeeze out of this one."
Hooker said travel insurance policies should cover an event like this.
