Schools are under firs e for not doing enough to combat childhood obesity.
An Auckland University study has found food in schools is surprisingly unhealthy, given all the publicity about rising childhood obesity.
Lead researcher Professor Boyd Swinburn says the most surprising thing is that there is still not healthy food in schools, despite two decades of childhood obesity on the front pages of newspapers.
He says that's on top of the fact we're third in the OECD in terms of childhood obesity.
"About 90% of schools used unhealthy food for fundraising, and about 40% sold sugary drinks, so we have a long way to go."
