The South Auckland community gathering to hold a burial for an infant found in a reserve a year ago, is there to support, not judge.
Police have never found the baby's mother or been able to establish how he came to be in the reserve in Mona Avenue, in Mangere.
Mangere MP Aupito Su'a William Sio told Mike Hosking it's a tragic story.
"We are not going to make judgement on them because we just don't know what the circumstances were that lead to this tragedy. What we are saying is, we need to provide a space for whoever that person is to come forward."
Aupito Su'a William Sio said the burial will help bring closure for the community.
