A Wellington woman who wants animals on public transport claims it'll help people get over their fears.
The Greater Wellington Regional Council's voting today on whether to allow pets on public transport during off-peak times.
Belinda Croft petitioned the council on this topic last year.
She says told Mike Hosking allowing animals on buses, trains and ferries can show people they're not necessarily dangerous.
"The only way to overcome that fear sometimes is to be put on the same bus as something you are afraid of. You don't necessarily have to touch it or look at it but knowing it's not going to attack you because there are measurements in place, is a big step."Â
