New Zealand First is calling for a halt in shark diving operations on Stewart Island. Stewart Island residents had already petitioned to minister of conservation, Maggie Barry to ban cage diving, but that was unsuccessful and restrictions were put into place instead. Party leader Winston Peters and MP Clayton Mitchell are now holding a public meeting on the island tonight to discuss the issue with residents.
