This week’s ASB Good as Gold winner is Katie Harrison and her Canterbury Earthquake Children's Trust.

Our nominator Mary Westwood writes "After the shocking 2011 Christchurch earthquake, Katie Harrison felt she needed to do something to help. On that tragic day, dozens of beautiful kids lost a parent or parents. Katie wanted to make life easier for them and their surviving caregivers. She started the Canterbury Earthquake Children's Trust. Katie and the Trust raise funds to assist with all those crazy expenses that come with raising children. The hardship of school fees, school camps and iPads to name a few. With the fifth anniversary coming up I thought it would be nice to nominate Katie's Trust - they certainly could do with a donation. Every cent is precious".

Our friends at ASB Bank couldn't agree more. They would like to donate $2,500 to the Trust, to help with the needs of all of these wonderful families. ASB also thought Katie deserved recognition for the kindness she has given to her community. They are sending her and a friend off on an Air New Zealand deluxe mystery break!
