Labour leader Andrew Little joins Larry Williams to discuss the criticism from Civil Defence Minister Gerry Brownlee about the length of time it took to declare a state of emergency in Christchurch following the Port Hills fires.

Little also speaks about Labour's promise to pump millions of dollars into a new timber prefabrication plant in Gisborne - if it leads the next government.

He said a Labour-led government will provide a stimulus package of up to $20 million to enable the construction of a prefabrication plant and associated infrastructure. And he said a spin-off is that the plant could help build the 100,000 affordable houses Labour is also promising.
