Govt keeping eye on OECD debate as they consider digital services tax

The Revenue Minister says going along with the OECD is preferable when it comes to bringing in a digital services tax.

The Governmnet earlier today announced the two options they are considering to target multinationals like Facebook, AirBnb and Uber, who do big business here but don't pay any tax on their income.

Revenue Minister Stuart Nash told Heather du Plessis-Allan they haven't said they're going ahead with this, but if the OECD can't agree on it, we need to be ready to move.

"This is what the Tax Working Group recommended, and it's what a number of other countries have already done."
