Kids as young as five are aware about their image and reputation.
Research from the University of Pennsylvania suggests by the time they get to school, children are considering how they're viewed by others.
The study also shows they'll change their behaviour to appear morally or socially good in the eyes of others.
Child Psychologist Sara Chetwin told Kate Hawkesby parents need to be aware of what behaviours they're modelling to children.
"How we are looking on social media and how we are presenting as parents I think children pick up a lot on that."
