Dairy owners say the Government is far too weak on crime, and New Zealanders have had enough.
Members of a newly-formed community action group are planning a hunger strike outside Parliament, in a bid for tougher laws.
Crime Prevention Group founder Sunny Kaushal told Rachel Smalley nearly 30 police stations have closed in the past seven years, and criminals are taking advantage.
He said offenders are robbing shops in broad daylight and becoming increasingly violent.
His comments follow yet another brutal raid on a South Auckland dairy, in which a knife was held to a staff member's throat.
