Rather timid and stripped back - the Queen has delivered the speech outlining the British government's agenda.

With no majority and no deal with the Democratic Unionist Party, Prime Minister Theresa May has had to drop controversial ideas from her programme.

Instead, Her Majesty outlined eight bills, focusing on dealing with Brexit.

British politics expert Dr Simon Lightfoot told Rachel Smalley Theresa May was forced to make concessions.

"The grammar school, the issues around the so-called dementia tax - all of those things had to be dropped because she couldn't guarantee that she would be able to muster support for those types of bills."
