More research is needed to understand a study which has produced hope for women struggling with fertility.
The University of Edinburgh study used the Hodgkin's lymphoma combination drug treatment ABVD on eggs, and saw an increase in their numbers.
Lead researcher Professor Evelyn Telfer told Rachel Smalley it's too early to say if the eggs are functional, or will be able to be matured and fertilised.
"We're at very, very early stages at the moment in terms of understanding the whole process, but it gives us a springboard to allow us to follow through in this research."
Professor Telfer said they assumed the eggs tested would be damaged, or would decrease in number.
"In fact we saw a huge increase in the number of eggs, so it was a very unexpected result."
