Australia seems to be flexing its muscles over New Zealand in response to criticism about its deportation regime.
Our Justice Minister Andrew Little told the ABC there was a "venal, political strain" to the policies, that he found weren't consistent with the humanitarian ideals he thought both countries once shared.
Australia's Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton has warned Little to reconsider his comments, saying New Zealand doesn't really contribute to our joint defence.
