A Scottish tourist is facing three years prison in Dubai - for touching a man on the hip to prevent him spilling a drink.

27-year-old electrician Jamie Harron was on a two-day stopover in Dubai, heading back to his job in Afghanistan.

He was having drinks in a bar called Rock Bottom when he put his hand on the hip of a man backing into him without looking, so he wouldn't spill his drink.

30 minutes later he was arrested and thrown in the cells.

Europe correspondent Gavin Grey told Rachel Smalley he's now out on bail but has had to give up his passport.

"He's not only lost his job as an electrician, because he's not been able to get back to Afghanistan to complete it, but he's said to have spent $45,000 in legal fees"
