A van has ploughed into crowds in the Las Ramblas [rum bliss] tourist area, resulting in carnage.

Police say one person has been arrested.

There's confusion around many of the details of what's happened.

"They did not slow down if anything they actually accelerated as it was sending people left right and centre."
