The leaders of North and South Korea will meet today in an historic occasion, the first time a North Korean leader has crossed the border in more than half a century.
Kim Jong-un will meet with Moon Jae-in, with the pair due to plant a pine tree together to symbolise peace and prosperity.
Massey University Asia security expert Dr Marc Lanteigne told Kate Hawkesby nuclear testing and a peace treaty will likely be on the discussion table.
"There had been some talk about potentially creating some kind of more permanent peace treaty or at the very least creating a situation whereby any future nuclear test or missile test might be suspended."
