There's controversy over whether a song that supports same sex marriage should be played at half-time at the NRL Grand Final in Australia this weekend.

It's become the anthem for those supporting same sex marriage in Australia.

Australia correspondent Donna Demaio told Rachel Smalley former Australian PM Tony Abbott is backing an official petition for the song NOT to be played at the sporting event.

"From a former player Tony Wall he played briefly in the mid 1990s but he said the NRL should take a neutral position on the question of same sex marriage."
