A crisis meeting, after the boss of the Australian Olympic Committee landed himself in hot water.
Last year John Coates allegedly bullied a female employee who was battling cancer, telling her in emails to get out in the real world, because he wasn't running a sheltered workplace.
Australia correspondent Donna Demaio told Nadine Higgins Mr Coates also criticised the woman's performance, encouraging her to quit.
The email exchange from last January was included in a letter sent to the AOC board yesterday.
Demaio said last night the AOC held a crisis meeting, and decided there's a need for an independent review into workplace practices.
The meeting comes ahead of a vote on the new head of the Australian Olympic Committee next week.
