Tony Abbott is stirring up controversy and sticking around in Australian politics.

The ex-prime minister has outlined his own manifesto, which calls for the Government to freeze renewable energy targets, and temporarily slash immigration.

His agenda is sparking tensions with current Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who out-seated Abbot in 2015.

Australia correspondent Donna Demaio, told Rachel Smalley Abbott is coming under heavy criticism.

"The Malcolm Turnbull supporters are saying he is pushing for policies that he actually never had the courage to implement when he was leader."

Australia correspondent Steve Price told Mike Hosking Abbott now a backbencher and is now throwing jabs at the current Prime Minister.

"Just a little knife into Malcolm Turnbull's back just to remind him he is still around. He said I need to stay around as a conservative voice to clean up the mess once Malcolm Turnbull's leadership is over and he is gone."
