It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Croatian fans this morning.
The small European country made it into the FIFA World Cup final for the first time, but fell short of turning that into a first win.Â
Newstalk ZB's Ivanka Zonich was among the fans at Auckland's Croatia Club, and she told Kate Hawkesby what it was like when France scored its crucial fourth goal.
"It just silenced the room. And then when we scored again it was like 'Ah, yeah, we can do this', but they just ran out of time."
However, the fans are trying to take the loss in their stride.
Zonich says that once the game was over, "they all stood up and cheered and clapped for France.
"We're all really proud today. Croatia has done really well to make the final."
Meanwhile, French expats and fans around the city were getting into the celebratory mood.
