UPDATED 8.56AM British police say they have resumed sharing information with US agencies after receiving "fresh assurances", ending a suspension in the wake of leaks to US media about the Manchester suicide bombing.
Â
Photos of the backpack used and shrapnel covered in blood appeared in the New York Times following the attack, which killed 22 people, prompting the UK to halt intelligence sharing with the US.
Earlier, UK correspondent Ben Bland told Nadine Higgins authorities in the UK say it could've compromised the investigation and caused distress.
He said they're trying to work out how the information got out.
The US Ambassador to the UK said the leaks are reprehensible and that the US has heard the message from Her Majesty's Government loud and clear.
