Confusion over Gulbis for Heineken Open

09/12/2008 7:28:11

Heineken Open organisers are hoping to confirm today whether Latvian tennis player Ernests Gulbis will be playing in next month's tournament in Auckland.

The 20-year-old has entered both the Heineken Open and Melbourne's AAMI Classic, with both events scheduled to be held the week before the Australian Open. AAMI Classic organisers only recently became aware of the fact that Gulbis had entered Auckland and are understandably aggrieved.

Both tournaments were hoping to talk to Gulbis' agent overnight to clear up the situation.
