Bay braces for Canterbury All Blacks

15/10/2008 7:52:35

The Hawke's Bay rugby team is not buying into Canterbury's wait-and-see approach regarding Richie McCaw. The two teams meet in Christchurch in the Air New Zealand Cup semifinals on Saturday night.

The All Blacks skipper played off the bench last weekend, and coach Rob Penney says he is not guaranteed to start this weekend. However, Hawke's Bay coach Peter Russell expects McCaw to be in the run-on 15, but says they are not concerned. Russell says McCaw had a turn off the bench, and now it is now time for him to start.
