Who says History Never Repeats?

01/02/2006 6:32:03

This is the news many New Zealand music fans want to hear - although it may be coming from the wrong side of the Tasman.

Split Enz are getting back together.

Tim and Neil Finn, Eddie Rayner and Noel Crombie, plus Englishmen Nigel Griggs and Malcolm Green are holding a news conference today to announce an upcoming tour.

But the iconic New Zealand band is making the announcement in Melbourne, and it is unclear whether they plan to tour in this country. The band is set to play arena stages in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, but all other information is being kept under wraps.

Split Enz was initially formed in 1972, and had hits like 'I See Red' and 'History Never Repeats', before disbanding in 1984.

The band has said in the past it would take something remarkable for it to reunite.
