Farewell to key Green

20/11/2005 17:44:02

Aucklanders have farewelled Rod Donald. A few hundred people filled the aisles of St Matthew-in-the-City this afternoon.

Among the speakers were Ahmed Zaoui, Mr Donald's partner Nicola Shirlaw, and colleagues Nandor Tanczos and Keith Locke. His co-leader Jeanette Fitzsimons described Mr Donald as a perpetual motion machine. She says he had no idea of the respect and love people held for him.

A memorial will also be held at Parliament tomorrow.
