Art attack brings trademark windfall

15/10/2005 5:08:03

A Kapiti Coast art gallery director has received a huge windfall for choosing a name which happened to be valuable to international big business.

Disney and HIT Entertainment have paid Bryce Moller and his fellow directors what his lawyers describe as the highest settlement offer they have seen.

The Hollywood moguls want to own the name of Mr Moller's art gallery - Art Attack.

Disney and HIT own a television programme called Art Attack in other parts of the world. However, Mr Moller and his colleagues owned the New Zealand trademark, and negotiated themselves a good deal.

The exact number is strictly confidential - Mr Moller will only say it is enough that he does not have to work so much.

HIT owns children's television programmes such as The Wiggles and Thomas the Tank Engine.
