Man claims Corby's drugs for him

27/07/2005 8:52:02

A Sydney man claims the drugs found in Schapelle Corby's luggage in Bali were intended for him.

Self-confessed criminal William Miller says he was offered $50,000 to collect the cannabis from Sydney Airport last October.

It is understood the plan fell apart when a baggage handler refused to remove the drugs from Corby's surfboard bag because he thought he was under surveillance.

Corby's lawyers believe Miller's testimony is the key to saving her from 20 years in jail and are continuing to pressure the Federal Government for him to be granted immunity.

Miller's lawyers are playing down the claims, saying he does not know anything and if he is not careful he will end up going to jail.
