Taupo police are investigating a fight at a wedding reception which has left a man in a serious condition in Waikato hospital.

Police say it is too early to determine whether the man's condition is connected to a current medical condition or is a result of the fight.

They are yet to decide if anyone will face criminal charges.

Police are working through the list of guests at the reception to try to figure out what happened.
