Plunge student out of hospital

31/07/2010 13:48:01

An Auckland teenager who survived a fall from an apartment balcony on the 16th floor has been discharged from hospital.

The 15-year-old King's College pupil fell from the top floor of the Proximity Apartments near Manukau's Westfield shopping centre last week. He was admitted to Middlemore Hospital with a broken wrist, rib and internal injuries. His fall onto a concrete floor was broken by the roof of a car park, which was lined with yellow batts and wire mesh.

Proximity Apartments building manager Jason Epps-Eades says the boy's family has now moved out of the apartment.
