On the markets, the NZX50 is up nine points to 3,042.

Telecom is up one cent to $2.00, AMP +9c to $6.60, APN +5c to $2.60, Goodman Fielder +3c to $1.66, Kathmandu Holdings +3c to $2.08, Mainfreight +10c to $6.65, NZX + 4c to $1.50, Port of Tauranga +5c to $6.85, Warehouse +4c to $3.55.

Steel and Tube is down three cents to $2.22, Contact -2c to $5.70, Pike River Coal -2c to $0.97.

The New Zealand dollar is trading at 72.12 US cents, 80.19 Australian cents, 55.19 Euro cents, 62.27 yen and 46.19 pence.

The 90 day bank bill rate is 3.30 percent and the TWI is at 67.09.
