Maintenance issues ground PM in Hawaii

26/11/2009 12:56:01

Prime Minister John Key is having a slightly longer stopover in Hawaii than he anticipated.

The Air Force 757 he is using to travel to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in the Caribbean has been temporarily grounded because of a maintenance issue.

It is not known at this stage what the problem is or how serious it might be, but it is in the process of being checked out.

A spokesperson for the Prime Minister says at this stage the delay is not affecting John Key's CHOGM schedule. However that may change if the problem creates any further delays.
