One less form when travelling to LA

11/11/2009 15:00:05

The United States and New Zealand are trialling an electronic boarder control process that will see travellers from of New Zealand to Los Angeles fill out one less form.

Minister for Customs Maurice Williamson says currently all New Zealanders travelling under the Visa Waiver Programme have to complete a paper form when they arrive in the United States.

He says it replicates the same information entered on the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation.

Mr Williamson says the one month trial of passengers on Air New Zealand flights from tomorrow is to test the accuracy of the electronic system.
