Crusaders swap Brett for Bowden

The Crusaders have lost Stephen Brett to the Blues but Auckland first-five Daniel Bowden is heading south for next year's Super 14.

After playing for the Highlanders last year and Auckland in the Air New Zealand Cup, Bowden will now don the red and black

The Crusaders squad also features two sets of brothers - George, Sam and Adam Whitleock, as well as Owen and Ben Franks.

Peter Borlase, Sam Whitelock and Robert Fruean will make their Super 14 debuts for the Crusaders, who welcome back Dan Carter, Chris Jack and Ti'i Paulo to Super Rugby.

Canterbury players picked up by other franchises are Nasi Manu and James Paterson to the Highlanders, Michael Paterson, James Broadhurst and Tyson Keats.
