Work begins on Auckland cycle route

04/11/2009 14:08:03

Construction has begun on the missing link of the Northwestern Cycleway in Auckland.

The new 1.2 kilometre track will be built between Bond and Myrtle Streets in Kingsland to piece together a mainly off-road route between central and west Auckland.

The New Zealand Transport Agency marked the start of construction with a tree planting ceremony this morning, with representatives from both the Regional and City Councils.
