Auckland doctors voice Labtests' concerns

03/11/2009 23:12:01

GPs in Auckland are being assured their confidence in Labtests will be restored as quickly as possible.

At a meeting tonight around 70 doctors voiced their concerns about the city's new laboratory testing provider. GPs passed an overwhelming vote of no confidence in Labtests after outlining problems with sample tracking and concerns over the competence of Labtests' staff.

DHB Chairman Pat Snedden told the group he hears their concerns and the boards have taken unprecedented action to fix the problems. He says restoring confidence in the service is his number one priority.
